Nintendo Survey Asks Pokemon Players What They Want in Future Games

Nintendo is asking Pokemon fans what they want to see from the franchise in the future. The Pokemon series has been around for north of two decades, producing dozens of games and working its direction towards its ninth era in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Alongside the mainline entries that go with every age, Pokemon also has a series of spin-offs that give fans an alternate encounter from trying to be the best there at any point was. There are the turn-based RPGs of Pokemon Mystery Prison, for instance, as well as the MOBA Pokemon Join together.

With so many spin-offs and games currently accessible within the Pokemon universe, it is precisely expected that Nintendo is asking fans their opinions on which titles they like. It's not unfathomable for a gaming organization to ask for criticism from its player base in a survey. For instance, back in April, Activision Snowstorm held a controversial survey asking fans what they thought about the inclusion of NFTs in gaming.

It seems the new Pokemon survey is attempting to be slightly less controversial as it simply asks fans what kinds of games they want to play in the future. First spotted on the subreddit for Pokemon Mystery Dungeons, the one question featured by user SpaceEV gives fans seven options, with five of those specifically referring to various directions the Pokemon franchise could head. This survey is accessible for those who are signed up to accept My Nintendo promotions and newsletters, however not every person might have gotten an invite to finish it.

The first choice to answer the question about what Pokemon fans want to see in the future refers to a game similar in nature to Pokemon GO. The second decision discusses an open-world experience similar to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which contrasts with the fourth box that asks fans whether they want a more conventional style of Pokemon game with a linear structure. Something that fans might find puzzling is the absence of notice of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which saw incredible success when it released recently.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus didn't show up in the question posted by SpaceEV, yet the Reddit user expressed that it was referenced in a previous question within the survey. It is interesting that Nintendo appears to be effectively requesting fan input to see what Pokemon players want to see for the future of the franchise. Whether this survey will really sway the organization on what games to make next is obscure, yet many are hoping to see another Pokemon Mystery Dungeons or redo soon.
